Can't update the firmware on my Samsung Smart TV.

Have downloaded the files from their Support Website and put them onto a USB key. There is a folder path T-HKMFDEUC -> image -> and then there are 5 x files in this folder :-
info.txt, REL.xml, T-HKMFDEUC_1412.1.xml, upgrade.msd, USBHardwareKeys.xml. When I attach the USB Key to the back of the TV, it finds the USB Key but still the Support -> Software Update Menu is still greyed out? How am I supposed to update the FW? Is there some way I can reset the Smart TV to default settings to open up the Software Update feature?

Many devices have to have the update files in the root folder of the USB drive. If they are in a subfolder it won't find them.

It's an old topic but hey..

This is how i finally got it to work.

Use a SD card and Usb memory card reader
Format SD card to FAT32 - uncheck the quick format box
Download upgrade firmware
Copy firmware to SD card
Extract the file
Delete the file - keep the folder with image
Plug inn the Usb card reader to tv
Put on tv - go to menu -support - software update- usb ( wait 25 seconds untill greyed out is gone )
Choose yes to update
