can't use video from kodak p712

When I load videos on my pc it says unsupported codec. The kodak p712 is discotinued , I can't get software. The camera has a format sd card request , I'm afraid to push it...help

The format option is to wipe the card, won't help you much, it's a different type of "format". What is the file extension of the video files? The issue is just simply that your computer does not know hot to play the files without some additional software. You can try installing VLC Media Player, it should play just about any file that exists.
