Hi guys! I know this might be a little off topic for Tom's Hardware but I figured I'd ask anyways. So my family and I are moving into a new house and my dad is asking me to set up some outdoor cameras that record and that we can view live from all the computers in the house. Is there a program out there that we can run on a home server and access from the computers? Is it possible to do this with some generic cheap eBay cameras without having to pay for a security company? Thanks in advance!

P.S. Sorry if I chose the wrong category, I couldn't find a better one...

I have a 4 camera (8 possible) Lorex system. Has its own DVR. Under $200 if you find it on sale.
Accessible from any PC/tablet/phone in the house.

This is my 4 cams, on a dedicated monitor. But could easily be in a browser on any PC in the house.

So you just type the address of the Lorex system into the URL bar and they show up I'm assuming?
