Cd/dvd will not read any cd or dvd

Hello,
i have a toshiba satellite it has a Tsst-corp CD DVDW TS-L633C part number. I am running win 7 home premium..my player makes funny sound when trying to read disks..it never reads the discs. I have experience in computers so I uninstalled the player in device manager rebooted the computer the device shows back up but still will not read.

Do you have any recommendations as to where I can get a great deal?
