Hi, I recently bought a home and it has ceiling speakers. I bought a stereo receiver, took down some of the speakers to test them and they work!

However, when they are attached in the ceiling and I go to attach the receiver to the output in the wall i get nothing.. so I know it has to be the wiring..

Only thing i can think of is striping a new piece of wire from the wires coming from the wall to make sure the wires are not oxidized? Any other Ideas?

Not really much you can do to test things here. If you know the issue is with the wiring, start testing/replacing/cleaning, etc.. each step of the cable run up to the connection in the wall. It would be odd that all the wiring in the house was bad to the speakers.
