Change an XLR file

I have a spreadsheet made with Microsoft Office that I put on a flash drive. I cannot open this file on my new computer because I do not have Office on my computer. Is there anyway to change this file name so I can open it? Thanks

Can't just change the file name. Use something like the OpenOffice spreadsheet program to open it.

rgd1101 is right. OpenOffice is free and can open Excel spread sheets.

If you only need to view / print the document, you can install Excel file viewer app
