changing Galaxy phones- using old SIM

If it is a SIM, that is from the carrier/service provider. I would check with them then on this. While most SIMs will work in a newer device, carriers/service providers do upgrade their SIMs for newer devices and may need to send you a newer one. So check with them.

Now, if you are talking an SD card, that is completely different. But as long as the physical size is the same for both devices, and the card wasn't encoded to a specific device, then it should work in a new device.
