Charge laptop battery directly

Hello,
Even after I bought a new battery and new charger cord laptop will not charge battery. Is there another way to charge the laptop battery?

Sounds like the Motherboard is bad, not allowing the AC Adapter to charge the battery. I know of no other way to charge a battery other than through the laptop(or a friends; if it's the same). You may need to replace the motherboard.... or the whole laptop(if its not an expensive model). Sorry. Good Luck.
