Charging the battery inspiron 1521

Hello,
im having problem with the 'not charging' of my inspiron 1521. please help. i bought a new charger and battery but still it doesnt recognized the charger.

Maybe the jack on the motherboard is damaged, (the board could be cracked where the pins are soldered) so there is no power to the laptop.....or do you get a 'not recognised' notification when you plug the charger in?

If you wiggle the plug around while plugged in do you get a connection?

If so, damage as above.^
