chrome not working

Hi
My PC auto updated windows 7 last night & today chrome will not open. I just get a blank page & eventually a box offering me the choice of waiting or killing.
Anyone any ideas?
I am not very PC tech savvy so needs to be as simple an explanation as possible,

Windows must have updated some system file which Chrome is not recognizing hence the problem.

Simple ways is to backup your bookmarks if you need them. Uninstall the Chrome application & download again from here https/support.google.com/chrome/answer/95346?hl=en
