chrome wont stop downloading a game

so I recently downloaded a game called Blade & Soul during its closed beta weekend. I had also downloaded a borderlands 2 mod for some fun. so now when I open windows it says it crashed and it has a download going which is the game patcher I uninstalled the game because I thought it was the game. that didn't fix anything so now I'm stuck trying to fix it. I have tried uninstalling chrome and reinstalling it I have also tried clearing all the cache and cookies and history but that just shows back up when I close and open it again. please help! I have also scanned my computer 3 times now with windows defender and nothing came up.

Interesting, I guess the first thing to do is rule out whether its malware or a bug. Download and run Malwarebytes to be sure you have no viruses on your computer.
