I don't want to have a PC/Laptop hooked to the monitor at all. Just monitor on wall, cable(s) to whatever box and the coax cable from the floor to box. :c) Jaq

If you have cable service in your home, they provide you with the receiver, that is what you hook your coaxial cable into and then use HDMI out to connect your monitor. The only other "displays" that you can directly hook up with the coaxial cable are TVs as everything you need is already built in, where as on your PC you will need a tv tuner card for example. There simply is no other way to connect a PC monitor to your cable without having a pc with a tv tuner card, a cable receiver or a TV.

Max, is there such an item as a TV tuner box?? :c) - The cable box from local company does not have any input for HDMi or VGA, only coaxial in & out (to TV), since I am using a monitor, there is no coaxial input. Also I want to use this in my sunroom, occasionally and already "rent" 3 boxes from cable co for $15 each a month! :c( trying to avoid anymore fees.

There is no solution that I know of that will allow you to do that without using something like the avermedia tv tuner card that you would use on your laptop for example or using your receiver from your cable provider. Your monitor simply has no ability to tune in tv channels.
