obvious question but thought i would seek advice anyway:

spilt coffee (I think with sugar) on a dell latitude. i left to dry upside down for 24 hrs as advised but when switched on keyboard and trackpad working intermittently. I used plug-in keyboard and mouse for a few days but then switched to a back-up laptop whilst deciding what to do. upon re-starting a few days later the screen is now rotated 90 degrees. and obviously keyboard and trackpad still not working.

is there any value in trying to revive this machine or better to call it quits and start again. new keyobard and trackpad?

Solution
I rushed in here to tell you go for uncooked rice in your kitchen and cover the keyboard with it.

Too late. Sorry. The keyboard and trackpad might work if the motherboard didn't get the drowning but it's unlikely now.
