Comprehensive home security

So, I'm about to buy a new route, NAS, and laptop, and wanted to capture as many security practices from stage 1 as possible. Any thoughts/changes/recommendations are deeply needed!

Router:
Synology RT2600AC
LOADED WITH:
Synology Intrusion Prevention
Client VPN(NORDVPN paid subscription)

NASuse for media/backup storage for 2-3 PC images &3-4 phone backup, not a fan of cloud storage)
Synology 216+
Loaded with:
Antivirus(McAfee or Synology)
Synology IPS

Acer Predator
Antivirus: Considering Kaspersky, taking suggestions
Anti-malware: NEED IDEAS
OTHER TYPES OF PROTECTON?
VPN(when off home network):NORDVPN

FIREWALL: Do I load this on my PC? Do I need?

IDS/IPS: do I need one for my PC too?

If you understand windows enough and its settings use windows firewall and configure it accordingly to your needs.
Malwarebytes paid edition, with it going side by side with eset, if it picks up on any malware coming from your media devices.
It'll get to it quickly and will try to eliminate it or disable it until you do something about it.
I would suggest you build you a pc server, its not hard to do at all, also look into windows server since your wanting to do home security.

Why do you prefer the nighthawk over synology? Just a question, as it seemed those two were Neck and Neck In reviews...

And thanks for the advice on AV/AM. I'd been one to go with the ore loaded and upgrade those to premium editions, gonna change that habit!

I picked out the netgear nighthawk because it would be one example to choose from.
You can choose synology if you want to, but netgear is usually high speced in hardware features.
