Hi,
With all these data breaches lately I have been very careful with securing all my accounts.
However, Today I received a Text message "Microsoft Access Code:" with 4 numbers which I did not request.
Usually these texts are more specific when I request them like "Use ***** as Microsoft account security code" or " Use **** as Microsoft account password reset code".
My question is: what is this code for? how was it requested? what service does it belong to?
I am trying to figure out if/what account or service a hacker is trying to access so I can secure it or know if I have been compromised.

Thanks in advance

If you didn't request to update your account (change forgotten password, etc), then ignore the text message.

However, I would recommend you access your MS account and verify its status. If necessary, change your password from your MS profile.

This text message could be a mistake, an attempt by someone to hijack your account, or a phishing attack.
