I have had this problem for a long time already and it started with League of Legends it started around 6 months ago and would be infrequent and my computer would recover from freezing for a moment but other times it would keep freezing play a machinegun sounding sound (like it is looping a really tiny fragment of sound really fast. Since 3 weeks this problem has spread to other games which never had teh problems before like skyrim and Dota 2. I have recently found out that my computer actually is making a report of this happening so I screen shotted it.

Could anybody help me fix or at least identify this problem. Thank you.

Well it started with League of Legends even when running at the lowest settings, then it spread to a host of other games which are moderately demanding like skyrim. I can play things like FTL (a not very demanding game) with no issues.

I have more or less ruled out my hard drive by playing the games on an external HD and the issue still appeared.

The issue appears after 5 minutes or after 50 it doesnt really matter, it can even not happen at all for 1 - 2 games straight.

More likely a failing GPU, but since you didn't mention your laptop make and model nor hardware specs, I don't know if you have a dedicated chip or if it's an iGPU. Either way, what you describe sounds like a failing component, and if it's only reproducible in medium + gaming, it is likely your graphics chip is dying.

You can try reloading/updating the drivers for it, if applicable.
