Computer freezing, tried resetting it before .. worked then a day later is slow.. freezes for 3-4 seconds ever minute or two

is hp notebook, brand new got it at christmas

When you say freezing, what are you actually trying to tell us? Is your mouse unresponsive for 3-4 seconds? If you're watching a movie does the movie literally stop working for 3-4 seconds as if it's on pause? Have you checked task manager to see if there is a memory load on a process or program when this 'freeze' happens? Also provide us with your laptop model, and make sure all your drivers are up to date.
