computer has been shuting dow for 10 hours

asus lap top running windows 8 been trying to shut down now for 8 hours.
will come to sign in page but when you try to do it, it just goes to the shut
down window where it keep saying trying to shut down

To confirm your issue, when you power on the PC, it just shuts down again and gets stuck whilst trying to shut down?

Could you follow these steps for me please:

1. Restart your PC into Safe Mode
2. Press "Windows + X" at the same time
3. Select “Command Prompt (Admin)
4. Enter "sfc /scannow" (without the speech marks) into Command Prompt followed by enter
5. Let the scan complete
