computer shut down and will not restart

System mechanic was running for the first time on our hp pavilion dm1 laptop and when I stepped away the computer shut down while plugged in to power. I cannot restart it. Tried unplugging and removing battery, then reinstalled - still will not restart. Light at power plug flashes 3 times but computer does not start.

Try booting without power supply, and if that does not work try booting with power supply but no battery.

The light that blinks, is it on the computer or the power cable?

Take the battery out leave the charger plugged in. Then see if you can boot.

Was not name calling or anything, sorry if i came off rude, just saying that I already told him to do that (and apparently one of the two things i told him to do worked).
