I wouldn't be caught dead with an Apple desktop/laptop but the iPad is an engineering marvel. No other tablet manufacturer has managed to match it on portability and price - the competing products are either too expensive, too thick or have a too short battery life.

CoCo is awesome as always

[citation][nom]smeker[/nom]Bunch of morons. It's a freaking joke... If you think iPad 2 is nothing than go and shove that Galaxy Tab up your ass couse there is nothing else you can do with it...[/citation]

lol

Funnies. Typing this on my brand new 15" MBP i7 sandy bridge. You know.. it's funny those who hate on Apple. For a company worth billions they must be doing something right? Gamers aside which have their obvious disadvantage, if your not gaming, a Macbook is the perfect alternative. Having worked for Dell (inspiron/latitude) hardware support for years, I can tell you the unibody design has many benefits over your average notebook. Those who hate on Apple are just jumping on the bandwagon, don't knock it until you try it 😉

Pad makers won't have a chance, until Window 8 comes out. It won't make Apple cry, but at least they'll be able to sell cheap netbooks again! Android is still for phones...

See, here's the funny part: I hate Apple. Never said they have bad products, just usually overpriced for what you get. I'll never buy one, not because I'm afraid to try it, or don't like change, or blah blah blah, whatever other excuses you say about what's so great about them, but, I don't like them as a business. Any company that comes out and says "that's not a bug, it's a feature" then will turn around after things die down a bit and give a fix for it, I won't buy it. My loyalties lay not with a company, or product, but, with attitude and service. I can't stand the iPad because I see it as a pointless piece of tech. The entire tablet market is basically the new phones that you can't make phone calls on, and a little bigger, so, more of a pain to carry around. Galaxy Tab, iPad, I don't care what it is, I'm not wasting my money that way, ty.

@joytech22

because putting magnets near items with magnetic storage device never seemed wise, but now we got SSD

hahahahahahahahah of course there is NO USB ol Steve then loses a major hold over what you can do with what YOU paid good money for...it's ridicules! Also ol Steve makes a f'd-up iphone and when people say hey I paid good money but it drops calls he then say’s "don't buy it" that’s exactly right you pompous ass.. I will not buy any of your crap again….

It has always been my impression that MAC products were for those whiney elitists who think just because they paid 400% more for something it makes the product better. I would say nearly 95% of those elitists who get deprogrammed and actually learn how to use a common PC develop huge cases of buyer remorse toward Apple products. Still there are segments of the American populace who will drink the koolaide offered from Apple without question. Conan got it exactly right.

(I don't own ANY Apple products)

The hate at Apple for the iPad is quite silly. That product has pretty much wiped out the Netbook industry overnight. They sold more units in a month than the MS/Windows market with their "tablet" class computers in the past 10 years.

What kept PC users or anyone else from buying MS-Windows-Tablet edition? Oh yeah, design flaws. Apple created the usable form-factor-function of a tablet device... and now everyone else is coping the Apple design and then some. Samsung, Dell, HP, Sony... and unless they costs LESS than the iPad and offer equal or better value... why would most folks buy one?

I have a Galaxy-S phone. Its pretty cool for what it does. If I was to buy my mother a tablet device, it wouldn't be Android.

LOL and yet you are all morons, everyone is now being forced to reduce the price of their tablets to compete so whos price raping now?

Spoken like a true Mactard XD

Shiny plastic made by underpaid workers in a third world, just so that you could be 'hip'.... Sad, really sad...

This is incorrect - I have 725 spam scalps just in the past 6 mths.

I assure you the mod team here delete their accounts and add their IRL's to the spam filter.

The site is being revamped and spam should drop off accordingly.

20 spam posts vs a peak of 45,000 per hour is insignificant in terms of advertiser traffic ... check alexa.com if you don't believe me.

See my last post ...

I remember when Best Buy was selling the 1st and 2nd gen ipods. They didn't even want to carry the product but customer demand was too great. We got a memo sometime after this began that noted a shipping cost of $3 million dollars a month (nationwide) to ship defective ipods to and from repairs, lol... If Apple had left any room at all for Best Buy to make a decent percentage it would have just been "bad" instead of "sickening". Obviously, I know the technology has changed from moving parts and so on, but that's just too huge of a bad taste for me to ever rinse out.

I'll pass on all Apple products, past, present, and future. I just have never liked Apple, ever.

Remember their ridiculously expensive monitor(s) supposedly awesome for photo/video editing etc but had a nasty obvious black line running horizontal right across the display? Apparently this eyesoar was necessary to produce the excellent quality on the rest of the screen? Of course, people bought it anyway, right?

The cube was innovative and if it cracked just right from the heat, you could see Jesus holding hands with Steve.

Oh and Mac OS 9x... you wanted to use your printer, scanner, digital camera, and some other peripheral at the same time? Sorry, you're not using it right. You need to create multiple boots with different peripherals enabled or disabled, depending on what your intentions were at that given moment.

If you don't want to buy a Fiery Rip Station, Apple had its solution. Hey buy one of our Macs or IMacs and dedicate its overpriced butt to running Rip software, so you can spend more and produce less in the same amount of time. woohoo 😉

OK, so I admit my experiences with Apple hardware and software hasn't been the greatest and probably not the norm, as most folks are just plain giddy about their Apples.

I applaud their design and innovations, even though in many cases they emphasized form at the cost of function.
