Unfortunately your threads very sparse when it comes to details. Can you please pass on the make and model of the device's you're connecting? Off the top of my head, if your monitor is Bluetooth capable but not WiFi then you're supposed to be connecting to the tele via Bluetooth.

The dongle that is supposed to connect your laptop to the central station that connects it to the monitor won't work on a HDMI recording box (whatever that is). Even if it had USB it's not a computer so there are no drivers to tell it how to use the dongle.
If you need a wireless solution you can use wireless an HDMI transmitter and receiver.
