My Samsung notebook was working fine before a plane trip when it was left in a suitcase. Now when I turn it on the screen is unreadable. There are vertical lines with a large white area witha big black blob! I have run the notebook through a tv monitor and all works fine. I have a message (that I could only read off the monitor) about a code 10 and teredo tunneling adapter not working. I tried all the solutions on this site but none worked. Can I conclude that it just the screen that has died and I can fairlly easily replace it?

Solution
If it is working when connected to a TV, then yes I would say your attached display is toast and is going to need to be replaced.

How easily it will be replaced will really depend on the model, and finding the right parts. :) But it isn't that complicated, no. You may even find a video or two online that can help walk you through it. Again, depending on your model.

Thanks Webworkings. Yes, it works fine through a TV. The screen replacement is easy to get (£31 on Amazon). I've seen youtube demos and it looks very easy to replace.
