Confused between core i5 w/ 2GB dedicated graphics AND core i7 w/ integrated graphics

Hi,

I am looking to buy a new laptop (Dell Latitude) mostly for coding and video editing (no 4K videos).

Common specs: 8 GB RAM / 256 SSD / 1080p screen

I am confused between processors.

8th gen. Core i5 8400H (4 cores) + Nvidia GeForce MX130 2GB GDDR5
8th gen. Core i7 8850H (6 cores) with integrated UHD 630

The price difference between both configurations is roughly $125 (core i7 costs more)

For video editing and overall performance on a 1080p screen, should I go with a 4 core i5 with 2GB Nvidia card OR will a 6 core i7 with integrated card outperform the i5 with a dedicated 2 gb card?

Please provide your thoughts. Thanks.

A dedicated GPU is really for ppl who run game-type applications, where fast motion, high FPS is desired.

Editing videos, well depends what kind of editing are we talking about, but regardless this is more numbers-crunching to me (CPU forte) than fast motion (GPU forte).

Hi JS, thanks for your suggestions. Yes i agree, a six core i7 will outperform a 4 core i5 + dedicated graphics as far as video editing is concerned. Thanks again for your feedback.
