confusing selective crackling speakers

So i recently got my computer back from the shop with a brand new mother board never used, since i got it back my speakers have been crackling really bad but my headset still works fine. if i plug the speakers into the front they still crackle but if i plug them into my phone they work fine i have no idea what could be causing this because each of these test scenarios seems to rule any possible issue out. it cant be the jack my headset works with no issue, it can't be the speakers because they work with my phone with out any trouble so i don't know what it could be does any one else know how i could fix this?

Your new mobo might have more output than the old one and the phone.
You might be overloading the input of the speakers. Try turning the volume and bass boost down on your PC. You can turn it back up on the speakers own volume control.

messing with the settings doesn't seem to be making a difference and my speakers only have one volume controller. it doesn't seem any louder than my old mobo if that's what you mean or where you referring to electrical output?
