The Samsung audio-out has a connector with dark blue and red female ports. The JVC has red and white connectors. So what do I need to make this work?

Solution
According to Samsung webpage for KU6290 the only audio output it has is optical (toslink) output.

If the JVC only has red/white (composite) then you will need to get an optical to analog adapter.
Note that this will absolutely not provide surround sound. This will provide 2 channel stereo to all the speaker pairs of the JVC system.
Surround sound means that there is different sound data for every speaker, not simply that you have many speakers surrounding you.
