I am looking for a dedicated sound card (either PCIe or USB), but I need one with a specific set of features.
1: Loudness Equalization.
2: Discrete 5.1/7.1 audio (not virtual surround) for analog audio.
3: Must have an optical port and support both Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect encoding for digital optical.
5: Bass Redirection with configurable crossover frequency.
6: Channel Mixer (my Realtek only has Room Calibration (-10Db - +10Db), but on my Sound Blaster X3 I can control the volumes of each channel.
7: Must be available in Australia.
The plan is to use SPDIF only for movies with DD and DTS codecs and use analog for everything else as SPDIF can only output stereo for all codecs except DD and DTS.
The most important feature is Loudness Equalization, as I have a set of Logitech Z906s, and they can get LOUD!
