Connect headphones to Sony Bravia and still have internal speakers work

I use hearing aid and would like to use headphone, preferably wireless. However, if I use the headphone socket the built in speakers of my Sony Bravia Android TV cut out the sound bar connected optically also cuts out.So the rest of the family cannot hear any sound. Sony Tech support usless and say what I want to do cannot be done. This problem must be common in many house holds

You could split the optical output of the TV.

One would think Sony Tech Support would have suggested this solution. I am sure many people have my problem. Thanks for the solution I will order today. Bill Scott

My new TV is Sony Bravia XBR65X930D.
I was looking for the solution of the same problem. It turned out to be much simpler.
Go to Settings->Audio->Audio/Headphones
Select Audio Fixed or Audio Variable.
Now the internal speakers will continue to work even if the headphones are plugged in.
