Connect LG 49UH6090 4KTV to older Bose (2007) surround system.

We just got a new LG 4kTV over Thanksgiving and can't seem to connect it to our older Bose surround system. We even got an optical audio cable as both units have it, but there is still no sound.

Do we need a DAC? What do we need to do to make it work? Trying not to get a new surround system just yet...TIA!

LG tends to default their optical out port to Dolby Digital 5.1 instead of PCM (older format probably being used by the Bose) . Check the TV setting and see if you can change the optical output to PCM
