my non-tech brain is frazzled at this point and i hope someone can help. i can't figure out how to properly connect a new samsung blu ray BD-H6500 to an oldish pioneer receiver VSX-415/515. Bluray is connected to LG 22LN4510 tv via HDMI. receiver is connected to comcast cable box and external speakers work when we watch cable tv. everything else: bluray, dvd, netflix, etc only plays through tv speakers.

not sure what kind of cable i need, what hole to plug it into or if it's even possible to connect the two.

if someone could help me, i'd be most grateful. thanks so much. TC

Both the BD player and receiver have optical audio capabilities. You just need a TosLink (optical) cable to connect the two. They are inexpensive.

Page 9 of the owner's manual for the BD-H6500 clearly shows optical audio out.
