Connect RCA surround to smart tv

Hi. I have sony DAV-DX255 surround sound DVD player. It connects to my LG50LB6300 with the rca component and I get to watch DVDs with the surround sound. However what I want is to use the surround sound for general cable Netflix instead of the tv speakers. But the surround only works if I play it through dvd is there a converter I can use that would allow me to use the surround sound instead of tv speakers

The easiest way to find out would be to look at the connections on the back of the surround sound and the back of the TV and see if any of them match and just provide that cable. I apologize if I am not understanding you correctly.

Hi the surround sound has rca and the tv has RCA so I can watch dvd and it plays through the surround sound. However what I want is when I'm watching Netflix or movies through usb or cable for that sound to play through the surround sound instead of the tv speakers.

The tv is a smart tv so Netflix and the usb for movies is on the tv it's the surround sound that is old model rca
