Solved! Connectin to Soundbar

How do I connect my LG47LM 5800 TV to a Samsung HW-N300 soundbar. The LG does not have an earphone socket and the optical port/connection has been blocked off. Please help.

Optical outputs usually have a flap to keep dust out of them. The toslink plug should not require much pressure to click in place.
You may have to turn on the optical output, turn off the TV speakers off, and change the audio output type in the TV menu to get it working.
