Connecting dvd/vhs player to tv connected to roku premiere plus

I have connected the samsung tv to roku premiere plus and that works. However I want to connect my GO Video Sonic Blue dvd/vhs player to the tv. I have connected the player and I get audio and picture BUT the picture is black and white. I want color. Also, the picture on the screen seems to have some “flickering”. Please help.

What cables are you using to connect to the TV and what inputs on the TV are you using? Usually a black and white picture happens when someone connects component connections wrong.

Some TVs have a shared component (3 RCA) / composite (1 RCA) video input, If you connect composite video to the TV correctly you will get a bw picture unless you go into the TV menu and set the input to composite.
If that doesn't help check the DVD video set up menu.

Thanks for your reply. You were correct - I actually was on the wrong Input source. The source I was using was”Component TV”; I am now using “AV”.
I don’t know what all that means but when looked through my past notes, I had indicated “AV” as source input.
