connecting passive sub to Sony dav-tz145

I was wondering if i can connect a 8 ohm passive subwoofer to the output of the main unit of dav tz145
the original sub has poor frequency response

8 ohm should be okay. most speakers come 4 ohm so watch out. You'll be using the internal amp if the tz145 has no preamp sub rca out. Make sure the sub has a similar rms power rating.
