I have a new Samsung Smart TV and I'm trying to wirelessly connect it to my surround sound receiver located in the basement. The house is wired with speakers throughout so moving the receiver is a big ordeal. Connecting wirelessly would save me a ton of money! Please help!

Solution
Since your TV may only have an optical digital audio output you can try one of these:
http://www.telme2.com/webshop/index.php?id_product=8&controller=product
at the TV and a Bluetooth receiver like this:

at the surround sound receiver.
You could also add a digital to analog converter like this:

to the solution mentioned above
What are you planning on connecting with? HDMI? Then you need an HDMI transmitter. Not sure about range though or how far you want to go. Other option is a long HDMI run.
