Connecting speakers through an amplifier. The does not work

Hi all.

Do not operate speakers connected to an amplifier to banana connector through RCA from the speakers is barely audible squeak and that's all, but work headphones connected via mini jack 3.5. What could be the Problem? thank you.

Hello,

Please connect both speakers, D-class amps are not meant to work without load. Try also to use the RCA inputs from the amplifier; are you sure the back 3,5" jack is also stereo input? Some models have the 3,5" jack as Sub Out (audio signal for a powered subwoofer).

Im connect both speakers . Not have a sound. But if I am connect headphones everything is working fine.

The connections are OK (for best audio quality, use an RCA-to-RCA cable).

The speakers are another story though... You must put the speakers against a rigid surface (wood, glass, plastic) and tightly bond to it (screws, brackets, etc). Also, be aware that only the bass and the sub-bass frequencies will be heard (or feel, to be more specific). Try the amplifier with some old-fashion speakers, to be sure it wasn't DOA.

Check how these speakers are mounted/used; also, these speakers are allegedly full-range, so it will be a much better choice (your speakers are specifically made for bass frequencies, so higher frequencies from voice / instruments may not be heard at desired levels and will be distorted).

The bass shakers speakers good working with Sony LBT - D109 .

If a pair of standard speakers also didn't work, it seems to be a case of a DOA amplifier unfortunately; are you sure you didn't short-circuit any of the outputs or touched the RCA/jack plugs with the speaker wires?

Which power supply are you using with the amplifier, the original 19V one?

The banana plugs would give you a cleaner look, but the electrical contact is better with the original system.

Usually the headphone output uses the same power stage as the speakers, but this amp uses a separate headphone amplifier, that's why the headphones are still working. Also, when using the headphones, the main output gets disconnected (are you tried without the headphones?). Maybe the front jack is broken and the main amp is not reconnected when the headphones are pulled out.

Either way, try to contact the seller/manufacturer. It could be a quick fix, but that will void your warranty.

Buying on ebey, return it for an extra charge, so the guarantee is not important.

First, be sure your power supply outputs the required 19V; if you have another brick from an old laptop, give it a try; the device can operate at +12V ... +24V, be sure you have the correct polarity, with the inner lead being (+).

If the power is OK, go and bypass the headphone jack; for that, you must dismantle the device and desolder the jack from the board. While you're at, check the board for loose connections, cold joints or burned-out copper circuits. If all seems in order, you may need to change the power amp IC, TDA7492, but this is a job requiring some experience as this is an SMD component (you could also use an entire new board, but I doubt the ones from ebay will fit in the original case). Mind you: all above actions will void your warranty and also could render the device/speakers unusable for good.
