When hooking a Samsung Smart TV to a Kenwood receiver what cables do I need, where do they go & how do I get sound from tv speakers & external speakers. Help please.

Both Samsung and Kenwood made more than one device, you need to specify the exact models and what connections they have, pictures of the connections will help since those are not always shown online. If your receiver does not have HDMI nor optical inputs, you will probably need an optical to RCA or 3.5mm adapter to connect them. You probably won't be able to use both TV speakers and the receiver at the same time unless your TV has options to allow that.
