Connection lost on second laptop

Hi all. Ive lost connection on a second laptop with Sky Broadband. What actually happens is that it has to be turned on and off about 5 times before it actually connects, it never used to do this. I have upgraded to a faster connection with unlimited usage but the problem still persists. I'd be grateful if anyone can advice me with this. I am no Computer whizzkid so if anyone can help, could they explain to an idiot..lol

Try setting the power mode in windows to "performance". I have seen many laptops totally screw up the wireless connection when they are in low power modes.
