Connection of PC through the LED TV to audio amplifier

Hi guys,

I have HP laptop and I would like to connect it with Samsung LED TV via HDMI cable. Then Samsung TV I would like to connect to Marantz amplifier PM7000 to transfer sound on higher quality equipment.

Can anyone explain me how can I do it?

If anyone has done something like this, please add a comment on this matter. Proofs are most welcome.

Hdmi carries both video and audio signal to the TV, so you just need to setup the TV settings to output audio via its audio out ports then just connect the amp.

I've realized what would be the best option.

You see, Marantz amplifier has only analog audio inputs. Therefore, I saw on some forums that people are saying that the best solution is to buy D/A adio converter and basically to connect TV with amplifier through this.

What do you think?

If you use an HDMI switcher with audio extraction that will only give you audio on external sources. No audio for internal tuner or internet apps. Easier to just use a DAC like this one to convert digital to analog.
