Solved! Connection to projection

i have a 2011 benq mx810st projector and it diesnt have hdmi instead it has VGA ports (15 pins) but my dvd player only has HDMI port. I have connect a HMDI connector to a VGA cable (per Best Buy) but my projector shows no image. It only says No Signal.
Any suggestions?

In your dvd player ... can you change the output resolution to match the native resolution of your projector (1024 X 768)?

Double check that the converter you got is hdmi to vga ... NOT vga to hdmi ... I think they only work one way.

Thank you. I will look at my dvd to see if I can change the resolution and as for the cables I have vga cable and I have a hdmi connector.
