Controlling the Toshiba 24AF45 without remote

Want to use all of the control features of this 24'TV Toshiba support suggests that this TV cannot work with a universal remote. Channel +/- Volume +/- work but playing the connected blu ray does not. Seeking guidance

It sounds like you need to be able to switch inputs. Try changing the channels below channel 1 or 2. That used to work on some tvs. You should be able to find a universal remote that will work with this TV. Make sure it lists Toshiba TVs in the code list.
