My fan on my aspire 5720 used to be loud... then it stopped working altogether... I just purchased and installed a new fan and it is not running ? What do I do ? Thanks !
It is possible that the fan connector on the mobo is defective. If that is the case, then you will have to replace the mobo. Also, are you sure the new fan is connected properly and actually works?

What is the 'mobo' ? Where do I find it ? (and assume, as it was a new fan... that it is operational)
