and by what extremely stretch of the imagination was it decided that ppl in general will really care about the internal issues between a dev and publisher? Especially since it doesnt have any appreciable impact on what ppl do care about from them, the games.

Make a blockbuster game, get fired. Although I assume its because of a lot more reasons than that, but I am sure those frustrated gamers with IW are going to be happy about this.

maybe Infinity Ward workers will start leaving and start up a new indie studio and start making above average games again.
Also once again Activsion gives more reason to hate them with their constant battle against innovation and customer satisfaction

steiner, i care.

as will alot of gamers.
IW have been quite vocal about their dislike of treyarchs work on the COD series. and i imagine they aren't happy with the way Activision have been treating it (as a cash cow, rather than a genuine IP)

not surprised, now they have what they need they can create a new IP and do with it what they want. and maybe we'll see a return to the roots of COD in a more hardcore focused shooter.

what comes on from here on out may be called COD, but the true successor will be the game these guys make.

Activision merged with Vivendi Universal back in 2007. Blizzard was Vivendi's best known property. After the merger, the new official name of the publisher is Activision Blizzard.

please don't destroy blizzard like you destroy everything else activision. PLEASE!!! they're all we got!

for all we know these might might have wanted all pc features included. while active did not. Interernal conflicts occured. they got fired. Bright side... these guys might finally be able to get a new studio running.

After the MW2 fiasco (Doom LAN Party), I can't say I am surprised. Lets take a game that allows dozens of players and essentially dozens of variations and cut it down to 1 map and 3 guys....

"Our community wanted it" That's BS. You mean the two mouth breathers in the corner that my 3 year old could own wanted it.

If your community wants better servers, you don't gut the freaking game. You buy some G5 servers and start hosting. BC2 and I suppose MAG will be what the future FPS games model after.

I don't know anyone that wants to play 1 v 2. 128 vs 128? Sign me up, now that is war....

Im so shocked bout this. These guys have been with IW forever! Those who been playing Call of Duty before it was the premium shooter know that these guys are the ones really behind the games.
Vince & Jason you will be truly missed. Mark this as the beginning of IW's end.

1024vs1024.
Generals, commanders, pilots, artillery, soldiers of two or three armies, guerrilla factions, rogue operations (cut from the main group communication) etc. running around an entirely destructible city
I've dreamed of this for years.
I'm not talking about some crappy little FPS, I'm talking about WAR!

Someone make that, and $100 + $50 monthly is all yours.

I worked for Activision and I worked with Infinity ward and I know a little about the politics and all I can say now is that they've got themselves right where they want to be!
Once they get up and running with the their new indy studio just watch the mass exodus from Activision's IW. The problem they face is that Activsion will try to stop them setting up on their own any way they can. This is what the any court action will be about.

But what is the difference between a cash-cow and a genuine IP from a managerial perspective? What have Activision et al done to Treyach that is unfair? What should they have done? Please clue me in, I don't know much about these companies.
