Corsair 1500v2 or Kingston HyperX Cloud 2?

Hello all!
I am just trying to decide between these two very popular headsets, can anyone give any input through personal experience on which is better? I am also open to other headset recommendations around $100!

Of those two, the Kingston one would definitely be the better choice. The Corsair 1500v2 is notorious for cheap build quality and quickly breaking.

What I would suggest and have done for a long time now is to get a good quality headphone for $100 and an inexpensive clip on/external microphone with it (E.G. Zalman Clip On mic), that way you get better sound quality while still being able to communicate sufficiently.

If you are set on a gaming headset there are still good choices out there and I am sure there are some other thread's on Tom's that can help you with it. Good Luck.

Thanks for the well worded response! I will probably be purchasing the Cloud 2s this payday, and because they have the detachable microphone I can always buy a better microphone if I am not satisfied with the quality of Kingston's.
