Corsair sp2500 worth the money?

Anyone owned/heard a set of these? Specific reviews about them seem to always be very positive, but forum chats seem to be more negative. Was thinking about getting them, but the thing about speakers is that it's practically impossible to try before you buy.

Its just that they are so expensive. I think they'd be pretty good. But so is Logitech Z623 for half the price.

I'm not set in stone with a 2.1 system, but bass may be an issue with 2.0, in regards to my budget anyway. I currently have microlab solo 6C's, with for £75 are awesome. I was contemplating their bigger brothers, the Solo 9C's, but finding people who have heard them is tricky. They're around £150 so I just don't know. Why are speakers so irritating to buy. You can read as many reviews as you want but you will never really know what they sound like until you listen to them yourself.

I have a set of these in my office at work. Normally they will play music all day long, for not being able to crank these up the do very well at low volume with bass and sound very clear. The controller is set to 2/3 volume and my desktop set to 1/4 volume and they will fill an office 10'x15'

I wish I could listen to them before buying, the sp2500's always have very conflicting reviews, some people say they're the best 2.1's you can buy, while others say they're not worth the money and that something like Klipsch Promedia 2.1's are much better.

The speakers I have atm are 2.0 bookshelf speakers, ive owned 2.1's and I usually found the bass to somewhat drown out the mids and highs. But at the same time 2.0's sometimes struggle with the lows. I've read the sp2500's have 'tight' bass - whatever that is. I've looked at the Z623, but I think i would be more inclined to go with the Klipsch promedia 2.1's, heard better things about them. Nevertheless, theres something about the sp2500's that intrigue me, thanks for the link though 😀

I ended up with Microlab FC 330's. They are OK.

I have also had the FC 330's, really good for £40. But just weren't powerful enough for me unfortunately.

Well it's up to you. SP2500 or Z623 or something else. My son has Z623 and uses them for music production. He's real happy with them. But I think the sound from the SP2500 should be better. Depends how finnicky you are.
