CPU and memory

Hi
Trying to decide between the lenovo i5 processor with harddrive 4GB or the lenovo i3 with more memory 8GB. I use for dvd's office, photos and photo design, emails, surfing etc. Both are the same price. Which is more appropriate?

Either one would work fine for the uses you mention.

Considering how inexpensive memory is these days (less than $50 to replace the 4GB with 8GB, when your needs change to actually need it), I would opt for the i5, since your usage may change to be more CPU intensive in the future.

The only argument for the i3 would be that it likely has a bit better battery life.
