i would suggest reading some user reviews on newegg and other online retail websites to see what the general opinion is on them. keep in mind that our opinions on here are also online reviews in a sense.
also, those speakers are not the only ones you could go for. the logitech 2.1 systems are also quite nice and have deeper bass due to having a subwoofer. the jbl creature is also highly respected.
