Dark streak on lap top screen

Hello,

an almost unnoticeable dark but transparent shade appeared on my hp g60-530us notebook screen. what is it and is this fatal to my computer?

Have you spilled any coffee recently?

no coffee spilled, i think this is a screen problem, is there a solution to this or at least some tips to slow it down? I'm anticipating that this will get darker and actually block the screen.
