DEAD LENOVO G500 ???? help please if poss

Hi all , really hope you can help me out here , im stumped lol


had to replace the lower housing on my nephews lenovo g500 few days ago , but when ive turned the machine back on after re-assembly its total fubar


symptons:

- power and battery light come on

- screen stays blank

- HDD and fan whirr for a second as if ready to start as normal

- THEN ALL DIES , LIGHTS GO OFF , NO SPLASH SCREEN/LOGO ETC -

the whole process lasts around 5-10 seconds but the results are always identical as above


so far ive tried ,

re-assembly a further two times

power/static drain using numerous methods ,including

(10 pushes the hold for 30secs)

(hold for 20s , then 1min and others !!!)

(removing battery and powerlead alternately and together)

(removing HDD)

(swapping and removing RAM)

and disconnecting LCD; for boot


ALL WITH IDENTICAL RESULT - AS ABOVE - LIGHTS ON HDD WHIRRS - GOES DEAD

hope one you guys has the knowledge and time to help out - ive checked alot of forums and this does not seem an easy fix - i hope im wrong thou

Hi,

You've pretty much done all the possible troubleshooting steps that should have solved the problem already but it may seem that there might be a loose or disconnected line or connections inside the laptop. I would suggest opening the laptop again and check all the physical connections.

And if all these will not work, unfortunately the motherboard needs to be replaced.
