The two I am considering right now are:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T7XRH2A/?tag=topg4u-20
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152739&cm_re=MSI_GE_Series_GE70_Apache_Pro-681-_-34-152-739-_-Product&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=11552995&PID=7247212&SID=

I can go a tiny bit over 1000, and I need a 1080p display. I want a high performance rig that is good all around yada yada. So what do you guys think? One of these? Or is there a better option?

P.S. I really wish I could get the other ASUS in the first link with the SSD and the IPS display since those are 2 things I would really like, but alas, 200 dollars too expensive. :(

Ok, but why that one over the two I linked? Sure the specs are similar, but what sets it apart?

It has a 17.3" IPS display, a 4GB 960M instead of the 2GB version, for $35 less. It has less RAM @ 8GB but can be solved for $35. It's more of a hardware/dollar value over the others. If it were my money, I would get the ACER 15.6 IPS For $880+8GB Ram for $35+ 250GB SSD for $80= $995. This will have everything the ASUS You say you want except a larger SSD and $245 less. The Lenovo links I posted were $980 and $1150 for the 4K model when I posted them, btw.

Where are you seeing the "ACER 15.6 IPS For $880+8GB Ram for $35+ 250GB SSD for $80= $995. This will have everything the ASUS You say you want except a larger SSD and $245 less?" When I look at that it says $1,169.00. If you see that for $995, then I would buy that right away, but that doesn't appear to be the price. :(

The third link in my first post is an ACER on Newegg that today is actually $850 instead of $880. The link still works. The SSD and memory are averages of costs I threw in on top of that laptop. Right now it is $850. Add an $80 250gb SSD and $35 of 1X8GB 1600MHz SO-DIMM RAM to it will put it at $965 as of this moment. Here is the link again: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834314849&cm_re=960m_acer-_-34-314-849-_-Product&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-Skimlinks-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=12087162&PID=3899435&SID=skim1402X558040X19ee4dd94a659aa36e4879851f51ed2e&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=afc-Skimlinks

Installing them isn't very difficult, just takes a Philips head and a credit card or some good fingernails, and it doesn't void the warranty in the U.S. or Canada IF you don't damage it in the process. One thing about this model though is that it has a m.2 SATA port, my apologies I was a bit tired when I posted that, you would want a compatible m.2 ssd not the one I linked earlier. Like one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=%2D1&IsNodeId=1&Description=m%2E2%20ssd&bop=And&CompareItemList=%2D1%7C20%2D147%2D398%5E20%2D147%2D398%2C20%2D147%2D397%5E20%2D147%2D397%2C20%2D148%2D953%5E20%2D148%2D953%2C20%2D167%2D308%5E20%2D167%2D308%2C20%2D211%2D950%5E20%2D211%2D950&percm=20%2D147%2D398%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24%3B20%2D147%2D397%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24%3B20%2D148%2D953%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24%3B20%2D167%2D308%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24%3B20%2D211%2D950%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24
