Decent Laptop for college

Hey guys. So in a year I will be heading off to college and I need to find a laptop. I already have my desktop (Which I will be bringing with me), but obviously I can't lug a tower around and take notes on it. So if anyone have any recommendations for a solid, windows-based laptop it would be much appreciated. My budget is around $1000. I have some requirements however:

- At least 500 gb of storage (SSD or HDD, i really don't care)
- At least 8 gb of ram
- No bullshit removable display that acts as a tablet
- Preferably not touch screen but whatever
- At least an i5 based cpu
